Webmaster Internship

Got more than basic web skills? Want to get real world training and experience with the alphabet soup of PHP, RSS, CSS, XML and more? Want to be involved with a company that actually likes employees to use blogs and upload to YouTube and has a Facebook page? We’re a small but fun company looking for someone to help our growing company keep our web content current. We even do the e-commerce thing to pay the bills.

We're looking for at least some experience but we’re willing to train and we’re willing to let our interns be creative. You won’t be thrown in over your head, but you’ll have opportunities to work with a very diverse business web front. We’ll let your interests and skills shape your duties to what your best at and what you are most interested in.

You’ll get to work directly someone who has over a decade of experience in the technology field and spent the last 5 teaching web based programming and the technologies.

Skills required (non-negotiable):

• Capable of making HTML code without a visual editor
• Basic understanding Cascading Style Sheet principals
• Basic level graphic editing (resizing, uploading etc)
• Solid writing skills

Any of the following skills are considered a plus:

• PHP coding experience
• Experience using Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro
• An eye for making slick page layouts
• Web Based Marketing (Google Adwords, Product Submission Engines, Product Data Feeds)
• Experience using Social Networking Tools (Facebook, Myspace, etc)
• Experience using SharePoint Designer or FrontPage
• Video or sound editing
• Technical writing or editing/proofing experience
• Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques

Responsibilities:

• Convert static HTML pages into CSS based web templates or into dynamically driven content management systems such as Joomla.
• Manage site maps and page navigation
• Web advertising and marketing
• Updating web content
• Other duties as skills dictate

General Employment Requirements

Must be ok with working from our home based shop
Must have transportation to Longmont Colorado (RTD stops are only a couple blocks away and we have a garage for bikes)
Must be able to legally work in the US
