Slackline Competition Information

We use the following Slackline Scoring Sheet to judge our competitons. We didn't make up all of the trick names, we just used the ones that our competitors were most familiar with. Some of the tricks are unusual, but we've seen 95% of them at competitions so it's best to be prepared. Any trick that isn't on the list, we try to score appropriately, using the listed tricks as a judge. We also use the following Slackline Competition Rules to ensure that everyone has a fair chance and a fun time.

For setup, we try to offer a bit of variety, but still keep things beginner friendly and interesting for the crowds. We've found that very few people enjoy watching longline competitions. Despite their difficulty, watching someone take four minutes to walk 300 feet cross a line just doesn't keep the crowds interest up. Instead, we try to focus on smaller lines where the tricks get wilder, one of our most common setups is a V shaped two line setup, meeting at the same tree. We'll usually set one line up around 25-30 feet long and the other 35-40 feet long. We'll set the short line fairly tight, suitable for good jump tricks and the longer line set a bit looser, leaving it more suitable for surfing. We have on the rules that any competitor can request a line tension change, but generally such a request is pretty rare as they can usually choose one line or the other to handle their needs. The V shape also allows for line transfers, something few slacker's have practiced.

"I'm amazed at how tight I can get the webbing with the ratcheting system. I did it by myself in probably 10 minutes the first time and when I wanted it a little longer I reset it and it probably took all of 5 minutes." - Nathan S. More Gear Reviews
